Laura Eidlitz, PhD
Dr. Laura Eidlitz is a post-doctoral clinical psychologist who sees adults, couples, and adolescents for issues related to relationships and self-concept. Her approach to therapy is to seek to clarify 1) what is going on (in a patient’s life, and in the therapy relationship), and 2) where did these patterns come from (including, among other factors, dynamics of the patient’s family of origin, cultural factors, and traumatic experiences).
Dr. Eidlitz received her doctorate from Adelphi University’s Derner School of Advanced Psychological Studies. Her pre-doctoral internship was completed at the Brooklyn Veterans Affairs Medical Center, where she received training in the treatment of trauma, and the psychological impact of cancer and other health conditions. She completed post-doctoral training in psychoanalytic psychotherapy at the William Alanson White Institute of Psychiatry, Psychoanalysis and Psychology. She earned her Masters of Art in Mental Health Counseling from Columbia University’s Teachers College, and her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of California at Berkeley.
