• Training Programs

The Greene Clinic provides training and supervision for pre-licensure psychologists, social workers, and mental health counselors who would like to gain experience in a private practice setting with a primarily psychodynamic orientation. We currently offer two training programs:

    • The Externship Program: A one-year, unpaid, part-time program for students of psychology, mental health counseling, and social work who are completing their graduate training. This Program is led by Matthew Oyer, PhD, and Loren Dent, PhD.
    • The Postgraduate Program: A two-year, paid, part- or full-time program for social workers, mental health counselors, and psychologists who have completed their graduate classes and who are collecting their hours toward licensure. This program is led by Cassie Kaufmann, PhD, Sophia Frydman, PhD, and Jenny Marion, PhD.

Trainees in both programs have opportunities to see children and adults in individual and group psychotherapy and to provide assessment. Trainees receive individual and group supervision and attend weekly didactics on topics including psychoanalytic theory, trauma, gender and sexuality, race and culture, disordered eating, and more.

Please see the Greene Clinic Manual for detailed information about our training programs.
