Jacob Prescott, LMSW
Postgraduate Social Worker

Jacob Prescott is a licensed therapist who received their Master of Social Work at Smith College School for Social Work in 2023. They work with adolescents and adults across the lifespan within individual and group settings. They primarily use a psychodynamic framework, and work with clients to integrate somatic or cognitive interventions when necessary. They have a wide range of experience in hospital, non-profit and community health settings, and work with individuals struggling with issues such as anxiety, depression, trauma, psychosis and substance use.

Jacob uses their experience to assist clients in exploring the social, cultural and metaphysical contexts which influence the issues clients are struggling with today. Their training taught them to closely listen to a client’s narrative of themself, to identify patterns, validate experiences, and challenge preconceptions. They are committed to centering antiracism, feminism, class dignity and queer dignity as essential tools for healing and liberation. They also believe in the ability of metaphor to articulate painful experiences and the potential of destructive experiences to constitute sites of becoming.
