Lisa Lefkowitz, LMSW
Postgraduate Therapist

Lisa Lefkowitz (she/her) is a licensed therapist who received her MSW from NYU's Silver School of Social Work. Lisa’s approach to therapy is warm, collaborative, and engaged.

Lisa works psychodynamically to explore connections between past and present, identifying patterns that can transform ways of relating to oneself and others. Depending on client needs, she also integrates skills, using elements of dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) to manage emotions through mindfulness and the body. Lisa seeks to support healing and growth by fostering a therapeutic relationship that is caring, attuned, and nonjudgmental.

Lisa has trained in various settings, including at Sanctuary for Families in an internship supporting survivors of gender-based violence, and at Greene Clinic in a psychoanalytic externship working with a diverse range of clients. As a member of the Alopecia community, Lisa has worked with various organizations supporting children and adults with visible difference. She has additional experience with anxiety, depression, ADHD, autism, otherness, trauma, parenting, blended families, and neurodiverse couples.

Before becoming a therapist, Lisa worked as an artist for several decades. She brings a deep appreciation for the creative practice of making meaning to her therapeutic work. Lisa received her B.A. in Visual Arts from Oberlin College.
