Training Opportunity Announcement 

The Greene Clinic is now accepting applications for 1-2 new postgraduate therapist-trainees to begin in summer or fall of 2025.

Position: Full-time paid employment with a minimum 2-year commitment while collecting hours toward licensure

Qualifications: Applicants must have a graduate degree in clinical or counseling psychology or a degree in social work or mental health counseling along with at least one year of postgraduate clinical experience. We are seeking candidates who are interested in psychodynamic approaches; self-reflection around countertransference/use of the self in treatment; and integrating social analysis of power and identity. Priority will be given to therapists who work with children, couples, families, and severe mental illness, and those who will contribute to the diversity of the clinic.

Caseload: Postgraduate trainees work 20-30 clinical hours per week, which can include a mix of therapy with adults, children, and couples. Trainees are encouraged to see patients long term and multiple times per week when possible. Trainees may also run DBT groups and/or conduct neuropsychological assessments.

Patient populations: Our sliding scale allows us to see patients from a wide range of socioeconomic backgrounds. Typical clinical issues include anxiety and depression, emerging adulthood, trauma, relationship issues, LGBTQ concerns, academic and occupational difficulties, and multicultural identity. Opportunities are also available to work with serious mental illness and psychosis.

Training Components:

  • 2 hours of weekly individual supervision

  • 1 hour of weekly group supervision

  • 1 hour of weekly didactics seminar focused on specific topics in socially-informed psychoanalytic psychotherapy, including gender and sexuality, trauma, class, race, and eating disorders

  • Optional weekly reading/supervision groups focused on specific issues, including psychosis, DBT, and couples therapy

  • Opportunities to participate in our community projects such the Dream Collective and Community Speakers Series

  • Support in learning the ins and outs of running a practice, including patient selection, fee-setting, billing, scheduling, working with insurance, and treatment decision-making

Compensation:

  • $67 per clinical hour before licensure; $80 per hour after licensure

  • 3 weeks PTO
