Jeffrey Wainstein is a PhD student at Adelphi University’s Derner School of Professional Psychology. He received his MA in Clinical Psychology from Teachers College, Columbia University, and his BA in Philosophy and Comparative Human Development from the University of Chicago. His doctoral research interests include the educative aspects of psychodynamic psychotherapies and countertransference in play-based mental health interventions.

In the consulting room, Jeffrey values vital, authentic rapport and strives to meet the needs of each of his patients in a way that honors their uniqueness, integrating psychoanalytic theory with divers techniques drawn from dynamic, cognitive-behavioral, and humanistic approaches. He welcomes working with folks of all ages, genders, sexual orientations, and backgrounds.
